Althea Korea Ships to the Philippines + First Althea Haul!

I’m always on the lookout for new online shops to get my makeup fix from, and Althea Korea came at a time when the idea of a Sephora Philippines remained distant, and my go-to websites were enough to keep me happy. Althea Korea is one of the most popular beauty shopping sites, and they specialize in Korean cosmetics. If you’ve ever watched a couple of K-dramas, you’d know the miraculous effect K-cosmetics have on a person’s skin and appearance. I mean, who wouldn’t want to look like a K-drama actress? I know I would!

Take note that Althea Korea is pretty much an established online beauty shopping destination already. The only thing that changed is that now, the Philippines is included in their list of countries they ship to (Originally, they only shipped to Malaysia and Singapore.) Recognizing the popularity of K-cosmetics in the Philippines and the demand for K-beauty brands, such as Banila Co., Innisfree, Laneige, Tony Moly, and Etude House, our friends from Althea Korea made shipping to the Philippines possible, and therefore, shopping for sought-after brands easier than ever.

The special pink Althea Beauty box

Shopping on Althea Korea has its pros and cons. Here’s what I liked about the new shopping platform:

  • Althea products are shipped in a special pink Althea beauty box that makes the shopping experience extra special.
  • Over hundreds of skincare and makeup products from the best Korean brands. They have Banila Co and Innisfree, among many others.
  • Product info could not be any more comprehensive. Tons of details on the products, supplemented with user reviews to help you with your shopping dilemmas. Of course, due diligence would include still researching for other reviews :)
  • Items are shipped directly from Korea — ensuring authenticity and quality of the products. These products are shipped right to your doorstep, so you can calm your pretty little head and rest easy that the products you’ll be receiving are the real thing. However, in the event that you do get a non-authentic product, Althea promises to honor their authenticity guarantee by refunding no less than 200% of the purchase value. How’s that for customer service?
  • Their 30-day Unconditional Refund is my favorite thing about purchasing from Althea. I love knowing that in the event I’m not completely happy with my purchase, I can always get my money back.
  • Free Shipping for orders worth Php 1500 or more. At this point, this is just cherry on top.
  • I tried out their customer service one time because I was having trouble locating my tracking number on their website, and they responded within 48 hours. They communicate in fluent English, so I was able to get my tracking number in no time!

As with many things, there’s always room for improvement. Here are some changes I hope to see in the future:

  • Some reviews could have been translated into more fluent English.
  • As mentioned above, I had a little difficulty locating my tracking number. It’s a bit confusing, with shipping number, and reference number also there, and none of those work when typed into the shipment tracker.
  • I would like to see more makeup tools!

Here are the products I’ve purchased from Althea Korea. So far, I’m loving the Innisfree Creammellow Lippie in Number 10! I’m still in the process of trying out the rest, so watch out for my upcoming reviews for each! :)
