[Review] Industriya Marikina Restaurant and Events Place Father’s Day International Buffet

The first thing that always comes to mind with the mention of Marikina is “shoes”. After all, it is not recognized as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines for nothing. Its shoe industry is credited for 70% of the shoes manufactured in the country, making it the biggest manufacturer of shoes in the Philippines. However, we found on one of our afternoon explorations of the calm and quiet streets of Marikina that shoes are not all there is to discover. Just a few blocks away from SM Marikina and the LRT Santolan Station lies Industriya Marikina, a tannery-turned-restaurant with an ambiance that makes it worth the journey.

Every nook and cranny of the restaurant-cum-boutique hotel holds a piece of history in it, reminding you of its humble beginnings as a shoe factory in the 1970s. Its former proprietors had shifted business to distribution and has decided against destroying the warehouse. Instead, they transformed it into a dining venue that captured its elegant roots everywhere you look. The machines were turned into art pieces, and factory materials were repurposed as furniture embellishments. There is always something new to see, and a part of the story left to uncover, every time you visit the place.

The variety of food on their menu is vast, which can make scanning through their 12-page long menu an overwhelming task. The owners share that that they have always wanted to put together their favorite dishes and offer them to people who love dining just as much as they do. Thus, Industriya Marikina’s wide range of dishes make for the perfect selection for buffet choices for events and gatherings.

Thus, the restaurant has put together a feast to celebrate our hardworking and loving dads this Father’s Day 2015. On June 21, whet your appetites for the elegance and dining experience that Industriya Marikina has to offer. For Php 695+, be treated to a satiating buffet of international flavors from 11 AM to 2:30 PM and 6 PM to 9:30 PM.

My personal favorites were the Salad Station and Dessert station which lets you create and customize your own salad plate and desserts combo. I know I always say I’m on a diet, but I also had seconds of their Porkchetta (because I’m a fat kid), but didn’t have room to try everything because there were too many dishes to try! I say find your way to Industriya Marikina tomorrow, June 21, 2015, and treat your dads to a food-coma inducing buffet that will not only overwhelm your tummy but satisfy your senses as well.-HANA
