Unlimited Pizza Toppings and More at Mad for Pizza (Tomas Morato, Quezon City)

By now, you probably already know that I will work for pizza. I love pizza so hard that any pizza size is personal size for me. Any pizza is fine with me, but there is unparalleled joy when I get to request for as many pineapples on my pie. In fact, on worse days, it’s extra pineapples on top that does the trick and cheers me up in an instant, but it comes at an extra cost (Php 80 for 2 x extra pineapple toppings). But what if I told you that you can create your own pizza with as many toppings as you want for only Php 280?

*Cue heavy breathing*

That is the promise of Mad for Pizza, the newest pizza place located at foodie destination, Il Terrazzo, in Quezon City. You might think that the offer of making a mountain of toppings on your pizza for less than Php 300 is similar to that of Project Pie, which now leads you to think, “So what’s new?”

Ready to Order Pizzas for Php 250 (from Top Right: Justin’s Favorite, Anya’s Creation, and Andross’ Choice)

At Mad for Pizza, you get to choose from four pizza dough choices (Classic, Garlic Parmesan, Herb, and Spinach), all prepared in-house. You have four sauce choices (House Pizza Sauce, Roasted Garlic Alfredo, Fra Diablo — Spicy Tomato Cream Sauce, and BBQ Sauce), as well as forty choices of garnishes to choose from (including eight cheese choices!)

Watching as they made our pizza

That alone makes my mouth water, but what makes Mad for Pizza even more fascinating is that they’re not limited to pizza. They have American and Tex-Mex dishes for those who are not big pizza fans.

Disco Fries (Php 188)

Fries, anyone? These sinful Disco Fries is one of my favorites, reminiscent of nachos. I would recommend eating this with a spoon than with your hands because there are just so many toppings on this dish, and you won’t be able to scoop them up with the fries. Mad for Pizza also offers a nacho version of this one (Php 170). Needless to say, the Disco Fries is big enough to be shared by four people.

Angus Beef Belly in Adobo Sauce (Php 218)

Another crowd favorite is the Angus Beef Belly in Adobo Sauce, featuring a melt-in-your-mouth angus beef, generously smothered with semi-sweet adobo sauce. I would highly recommend this dish because so much work in the prep and marination went into this to make it as tender and as flavorful as possible.

Fish Fillet with Fries

For those who would like to lay off on the meat, you have to try Mad for Pizza’s Fish Fillet with Fries. The juicy cream dory wrapped in pancake breading, coupled with a hefty serving of fries on the side makes it a dish that can be enjoyed in more ways than one.

Frozen Iced Tea (P98)

For the drinks, the highly concentrated Frozen Iced Tea is the popular choice of beverage. For those who prefer chilling with a bottle of beer and a pizza in hand, they have a variety of beers ranging from local ones (SMB Pale and Light) to premier and imported brands (such as Hoegarden and Stella Artois). They even have cocktails for the sophisticated drinker to enjoy your pizza with.

They also have desserts such as Panna Cota and Bannoffee Cubbler, generously served for only Php 88/dessert item.

And this is how you win a pizza-eating contest, folks. (Photo from Astig.ph)

During our visit at Mad for Pizza, we were challenged by the staff to participate in a pizza-eating contest by creating a team of five people and competing against an equally hungry team. By that time, I was already full, and I can tell that there wasn’t much space in my tummy to accommodate some more grub. But it was a fun challenge I just can’t say no to, so I teamed up with four of my blogger friends and we downed that huge pizza in mere minutes, winning over the other team! I could not believe I just ate four slices stacked together in less than two minutes. Hence, this unflattering photo of my game face, intent to win this challenge.

Mad for Pizza Menu and Prices

What I liked best about Mad for Pizza is that it’s not only a place pizza lovers would enjoy, but also caters to other foodie crowds that are looking for novel food discoveries. With their non-pizza items and a menu that is packed with flavorful dishes and dessert items, they’re able to innovate and play with flavor, capturing the taste buds of a bigger crowd of food enthusiasts.

Plus, they have wi-fi, which Project Pie doesn’t have.

Looking forward to my next Mad for Pizza visit, and hoping that more people will clamor for them to open stores in Ortigas or Makati!-HANA
