Review: Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge (E. Rodriguez, Quezon City)

Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge, an up-and-coming spa located at Hemady Square along E. Rodriguez, invited me to a pampering treat one afternoon. I found it was impossible to say no, after many other bloggers gave nothing but praise and good words for the spa. So, one afternoon, Phya from PhyliciaMarie.com and I surrendered ourselves to the hands of Make Me Blush’s team. Here’s how it went.

The spa is located on the 3rd floor of the newly built Hemady Square, situated at the corner of E. Rodriguez and Doña Hemady. Hemady Square is accessible via jeeps from Quiapo/España Boulevard going to Cubao. Other than that, you can get there by LRT, and get down at any station along Aurora Boulevard (Gilmore Station recommended). From there, it’s a few blocks away from E. Rodriguez, but you might have to consider taking a trike or a cab to get you to your destination faster.

Bird cages enclosing the light bulbs hung from the ceiling. I find this too instagrammable not to share.

The first thing that will draw your attention is the playful neons they used for the place. It set the vibrant mood of the spa. Apart from that, the bird cages that hung overhead was a nice touch, and the mirrors really helped make the space look bigger than it really is.

The big plush couches will pull you in. They look so cozy to sit on, and the good news is, they are! I could sit there for hours having my nails done and getting an extremely relaxing foot spa.

The spa has magazines to keep you occupied while you’re having your treatments. They have wifi and numerous power outlets for the guests’ use as well.

Make Me Blush’s Beauty Lounge area for hair and makeup services

What I liked most about Make Me Blush is that it’s a one stop shop of sorts. Their services are not limited to massage and hand and foot treatments. I found out that Make Me Blush’s owner, Alyssa Apostol, also studied Hair and Makeup Artistry in HD Makeup Academy, the same school where I took my makeup course last year . She manages the place, as well as attends to clients for their hair and makeup needs.

Tea for two? ♥

While we waited for our turn, Phya and I were served tea. The teapot and tea cups were the cutest thing ever. It felt like having our own mini-tea party, and looks perfect for bridal and baby shower sparties!

During our visit, we were treated to the Love Me or Leave Me package, inclusive of a manicure, pedicure and foot spa. I was immediately attended to by my therapist, Grace, who did the foot spa, and Joy, who took care of my nails. We started with a relaxing warm soak for my feet. In no time, Grace was scrubbing my soles clean. She used a variety of great-smelling creams to soften callouses and rid my feet of dead skin cells. Her foot spa was so good, I almost fell asleep! I haven’t had a good foot spa in weeks, and the next time I’m here, I’ll make sure to ask for Grace for my foot spa.

Enjoying the services at Make Me Blush

Joy, on the other hand, got busy with my nails. She was very meticulous, and made sure everything was to my liking. My mani-pedi took a while, but it was nothing short of perfect. Not a stroke of nail polish out of place.

Perfect nails! ♥

They had a wide variety of nail polish brands and shades, including Orly, OPI, Kleancolor, and Essie, among others.

Let’s not forget that after my service, Joy treated me to a relaxing back massage. It was just what I needed. Joy was very skilled in getting your tense and tired muscles to loosen up. I cannot stress this enough that I enjoyed the back massage, no matter how short it was. I was not expecting to be treated to a back massage after I was done with the services, so it was really appreciated.

Aside from being visually appealing, and had all the beauty and pampering services you’ll ever need, they had conceptualized many details so well, that the tongue-in-cheek names of all their services gets you giddy to try them all. I’m dying to try “The Girl Who Had Everything” (Manicure, Pedicure, Hand and Foot Paraffin) and their “Single and Ready to Limbo” Threading service.

I find their rates very reasonable for the quality that they deliver. I’ll make sure to drop by the next time I’m in need of a really good massage! Make Me Blush is barely three months operating in full swing, but the volume of people coming in and out of the place is incredible!
