First Week at Work

Going places with my new pair of shoes. And no one can stop me.

…and things could not be better.

I’ve been quite busy these past few days adjusting to life and work in my new workplace. I am, however, proud to announce that I’m done with my first week at my new job, and I can easily imagine staying here for a long time. Admittedly, I feel sad that I don’t get to attend events as often as I do in the past. I only get to attend during the weekends, and that pushes me to make the best out of every opportunity during my rest days.

Free cereals and food at the pantry. Pinch me, I must be in Paradise.

Tell me that I’m still enjoying the “newness” of everything, but I’m happy I don’t dread Mondays. In fact, I love working for the company. I can work there 24 hours as long as I don’t miss out on any planned blogging opportunities. This is totally unlike being in PGH, where I always wished time was faster and hated being recalled or going on 16-hour shifts. I’m pretty useless at the moment, and I might not be contributing as much as the other employees, but I’m working hard to become awesome at my job. I’m trying to absorb everything I can, and I even study when I’m at home. A colleague told me to mind my ‘Work-Life’ Balance, but I just want to be as useful and as indispensable as the other people in the company.

We had free Magnum one evening. (Trying to be chill about it, but deep inside I’m like OMGWTFBBQ FREE MAGNUM WHY? I LOVE MY LIFE)

There are so many things I love about working at SAC. On top of my list is that I get a chance to do something I believe in. I believe that what I’m doing is a good thing, and that I’m helping other people with my job. Then, there’s free food in the pantry. I cannot explain how happy I am with the free food. =)) And then, there’s the shuttle that brings us home when we finish at ungodly hours of the morning.

Sharing McDo’s BFF fries with new-found friends. And yes, ketchup!

But most of all, I love being surrounded with great, supportive people. The people in the office have been really nice to me, and while maybe for some of them, familiarity breeds contempt, I’m just enjoying everything right now. I haven’t been in such a great place since… ever. The people who’ve been there longer might not realize how nice and wonderful their work and workplace is, but I do. Coming from a worse place makes me feel so grateful for being given the chance to work at SAC.

Certification Exam done!

To all the good things happening in my life, to everything I’ve always wanted and deserved, cheers! -HANA
