Dare To Go Out of Your Comfort Zone

Watching a movie alone… can actually be fun!

On Facebook, I asked my readers, “What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done yet because it’s out of your comfort zone?

And a lot of them came up with so many interesting answers. It’s so fun to read and I hope that the next time I try to stir a discussion on the page, most of them would still actively participate. As for me, I had my own answer. Surprisingly, it’s not something that entails risking my life, nor anything that would spike adrenaline levels. Mine was pretty simple: It’s to watch (and enjoy) a movie alone.

I’ve always wanted to try and watch a movie by myself. I don’t know what held me back, but I never got around to doing it until only very recently. And I realized it was fun! No one needs to feel bad for watching a movie alone. That doesn’t mean you have no friends or a significant other you could bring along to watch with you. It only means you’re very well comfortable to be alone and spend time enjoying by yourself. I got the best seats in the house at the Premiere Cinema, treated myself to a regular cup of my favorite from Happy Lemon, the Cocoa with Rocksalt and Cheese, sat back and enjoyed the movie.

I realized how liberating it was to do things that you’ve always felt afraid to do. And when you finally do, you feel unstoppable. You feel you can aim for bigger victories, little by little, until you’ve overcome them all. So this month’s challenge is to ask yourself:

What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done yet because it’s out of your comfort zone?

If you have a different answer from mine, I welcome you to leave a comment here or on the Facebook discussion post. It doesn’t have to be a profound or complicated answer! Just feel free to say what’s on your mind. Plus, by contributing to the discussion, you might just win for yourself a Buffet Dinner for 2 from The Food Club Manila, and a Php 500 Sugarhouse GC for a friend! Don’t forget to join! :)-HANA

I want to travel alone even just for two days. It’s by reading travel blogs that made me think of doing it. They say it’s liberating and I think it’s a bit scary but I really want to know how it feels to travel alone.

I was told the same thing. :) My friends are even recommending I choose a place that doesn’t speak Tagalog or English, but I don’t think I’ll survive a day if I can’t communicate. This should be on our bucket list, yes? :)
