Review: Hana Shampoo Soft & Silky 200ml (Php 102.10)

The first time I encountered Hana Shampoo by leading Japanese brand Shokubutsu, was during the Ms. Earth 2013 Tour. Hana Shampoo was the presenter of Ms. Earth during that time. The brand name intrigued me. I mean, how could it not? It was a shampoo with the same name as me!

So when I received samples of their products during the Hana Hair Show, I was ecstatic to try it out for myself. I’ve already heard and read good feedback about it, and there was so much expected from it, being a Japanese-formulated product and all. Here are the ones I’ve tried so far:

Hana Shampoo Soft and Silky — The pink variant in the Hana Shampoo line, Hana Soft & Silky contains R-Essential, or what is also known as Arginine. R-Essential is an amino acid naturally present in our scalp and responsible for holding moisture naturally, thus preventing itchiness and dryness.

Hana Smooth and Soft Conditioner –The Hana Smooth and Soft Conditioner gently moisturizes and cleanses the scalp and hair, maintaining the hair’s natural beauty.

Hana Smooth and Soft Conditioner 180ml (Php 119)

I use these two together, and use them everyday. So far, the thing I love the most about this powerful duo is its aroma. It leaves my hair smelling so fragrant, like the smell of flowers. It’s good to not be bothered about how your hair smells, and feel confident that it smells great! I love the fact that the fragrant smell of the shampoo on my hair even rubs off on my pillow.

Other than that, the Hana Soft & Silky Shampoo + Hana Smooth and Soft Conditioner combo has tamed my wild tresses and makes it easy to comb like never before. I can ditch leave-ons and other hair cream products for good, most of which I used to apply on my hair just so that I can comb my hair without losing my patience. My damaged hair feels softer and shinier.

I’ve read some reviews that Hana Shampoo also helps make one’s hair color more vibrant. I have yet to see that effect on my hair, but I’m not losing hope that it will!

Other than the Hana Soft & Silky Shampoo, they have two other variants which include the Hana Anti-Hairfall and Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. I’m looking forward to trying out those two, especially the Anti-Hairfall Shampoo.

Compared to local shampoo brands, the price of Hana Shampoo and Conditioner is a wee bit more expensive (say, local brands’ price range are at around Php 90-100), but for the quality and the irresistible fragrance, I’d say it’s worth it.

How about you? Have any of you guys tried Hana Shampoo and Conditioner before? Did it do wonders for your hair too? Leave a comment below!-HANA

soft & silky even with a minimal amount. that’s Hana shampoo. I first tried using this shampoo when promo ladies gave samples at EDSA-LRT station & UN LRT station. along with the promo pack are champion powder soap, dishwashing liquid, fabric condition, hana shampoo & conditioner, etc. I recommend these products.

I’m very choosy when using shampoo products especially with brand names that are not yet popular. I tried L’Oreal products, Unilever products, Colgate-Palmolive products & P&G products.

with Hana shampoo, the smell is just right, not that strong which can be irritating to the nose. You won’t regret for using this product.

of course it smells like flowers, hence the name Hana which means flower in Japanese :)

    • Janah  says:

Oh really? Now i know that’s the reason why its brand name is Hana. Thanks :)

  • Janah  says:

hello dollies! tanong ko lang sana , dry hair kasi ako, nasosolusyonan ba ‘yun ng Hana (Conditioner and Shampoo)? :) Thanks :D

    • dollhana  says:

Hi Janah! There are some variants that does, and their conditioner is very helpful, but I have another shampoo to recommend for your dry hair (because it totally helped with mine!) It’s called Wen shampoo. Will let you know once the review is up :)

      • Janah  says:

Thank you very much :) Where can i buy that shampoo and how much’s it? Intramurals in school is drawing near :( I will be the representative and they told me not to iron my hair, so I wanna try some product that would help y hair to straighten (or just repair?) Thank you :)

  • Anthea  says:

Hana smells good but it made my hair very dry. I dye my hair so I need gentler products. Unfortunately, I find Hana to be a bit harsh on my hair. So I switched to a more organic shampoo (Human Nature).

    • dollhana  says:

Thanks for the tip, Anthea! Great to know that Human Nature is working so much better for you :)

  • Mikaela  says:

Hi! Nasa US ako to be exact sa California. Saan ako pwedeng umorder o magbebenta na rin ba kayo dito?

    • dollhana  says:

Hello, Mikaela! I don’t think they’ll be selling Hana shampoo there in the future, but if you have any friends or relatives here who can buy for you and send it to you there, that might be your best option :)

After I read this review and watched hana’s new commercial with Marian rivera(the watermelon and yawning thingy), as a boy with a dry hair I felt enthusiasm about this, and being natural I think this is perfect for me. Marian also said that Hana is both for men and women, thank you for this review

    • dollhana  says:

Hi Alkeeno! Awesome to hear! Let me know if you’ve tried the shampoo and liked it!

  • anne  says:

HANA products are totally great. I used it for a couple weeks and my hair is so smooth even my mom ask me what kind of shampoo did I use. She told me that it smells good, even when after I took a bath the fragrance stick to my hair. And it’s easy to comb my hair….. but I never seen the Hana conditioner.

  • Jaimee  says:

just wondering if what will happen to your hair if you won’t gonna use Hana conditioner after using Hana shampoo. I’m using Hana (green)
