Review: Snack Time at Figaro, SM Megamall, Ortigas

Last week, I met up with a couple of friends at Figaro at the Building A of SM Megamall. I noticed how very few people eat or enjoy coffee there, but it’s the coziest coffee shop in the area, because it’s not as crowded as Stabucks, Bo’s, or J.CO Donuts & Coffee. It’s located on the 2nd floor of Building A, just outside the rear entrance of Forever 21.

Figaro’s Quesadillas

I normally just order coffee, but this time, I decided to get myself a plate of Quesadillas, of which I absent-mindedly have forgotten to take a photo of. Here’s a photo from Figaro’s website. Priced at Php 135, it already includes 12 oz of Iced Coffee. I got the Pepperoni Quesadillas and it was really cheesy and tasty, but I didn’t expect the serving to be small. I did enjoy the Iced Coffee that came with it. I was half-expecting that their Iced Coffee would just be ordinary coffee, but it was strong and tasty.

Five-Cheese Pizza Ciabatta (Php 159)

And then we ordered an 8-in Five Cheese Pizza Ciabatta, one of Figaro’s Classic Pizza varieties. It made for an “okay” snack. It wasn’t heavy and wasn’t as tasty, but it was served fresh and fast.

Blueberry Cheesecake Lite (Php 130)

For something sweet, we had a Blueberry Cheesecake Lite. It was great with coffee, but not as much with a sweet drink like hot chocolate. The crust beneath the cake tasted bland, which provided contrast to the sweet flavor of the Blueberry Cheesecake.

I’m looking forward to try out Figaro’s Salted Caramel soon! I’m always interested in the unusual pair of sweet and salty in dishes.

Any Figaro dishes that you’ve tried recently?-HANA
