The Pastries for All Occasion: Red Pastries’ The Sweet Launch

Red Pastries: Cupcakes and More

Cupcakes, muffins, and pastries galore. This is the promise of Red Pastries, an exciting new venture of Erika Ongtauco and Joyce Siy. They invited bloggers and celebrities to the Red Pastries The Sweet Launch, sharing with us what makes them stand out among the many pastry businesses in the metro. Here are some photos from the launch:

The launch was held at Nozumi Japanese Casual Dining Restaurant at One Corporate Center, Ortigas. It was a short but sweet affair, one which got us all participating in designing our own cupcakes. The photos above are proof as well how Erika and the rest of the team made sure that the setup was nothing short of eye-catching. The cuteness of the cupcakes multiplied tenfold with the colorful backdrop of the setup. It brought out our inner child and made us yearn for a taste of all the pretty cupcakes. It kind of made me feel conflicted between eating them and not eating them. #confused

Cupcake and Muffin Samples

Luckily, to prevent the likes of me from sinking my teeth on the cupcakes of their beautiful setup, they prepared ahead and served a sample of each of the flavors they carry. All in all, they have thirteen flavors to choose from.

ALL TIME FAVE CUPCAKES consisting of Vanilla Creme, Mochalicious, Choco-mint, Cookies ‘n Cream, Salted Caramel

SINFULLY DELICIOUS CUPCAKES: Red Velvet, Carrot cupcake, Strawberries ‘n Cream, Ultimate chocolate

MUFFINS AND PUFFINS: Calamansi, Banana Walnut, Blueberry and Double Chocolate Chip Muffins!

Cupcake and muffin samples. Not the cupcakes’ actual size

They all looked delicious, but I really couldn’t eat all of them even if I tried! The flavors I tried were Salted Caramel, Mochalicious, Vanilla Creme, and Carrot Cupcake. I regret not getting to taste the Calamansi Muffin, because it’s one of their specialties. Not a lot of bakers have tried to bake using calamansi and succeeded, which is why you have to try their Calamansi Muffin!

The price range of their cupcakes and muffins are at Php 40-45 per piece, P240-260 for a Box of 6, or Php 450-480 for a Box of 12. Comparing the price to more commercial cupcakes such as Sonja’s, Vanilla Cupcake Bakery, or Gigi, I can say that you get more value for money, and can buy you more if you’re planning to give them away for a special occasion such as for a birthday party, a Christening, a souvenir or take-home for a wedding or debut, and many more. The cupcake is moist, and the soft frosting melts in your mouth. There are some flavors that were very faint and subtle, and some you’ll be immediately able to taste.

Decorating our own cupcake. Eep!

One of the highlights of the launch was that we were given the chance to decorate our own cupcake. Joyce made it look so easy, though. Challenge accepted!

Cupcake decorating: Serious business. The bloggers really did their best in decorating them cupcakes!

And here’s my cupcake. Not bad, right? :3

With all the sweets we helped ourselves to and the activities and prizes that Team Red Pastries set for us, it was impossible not to have an amazing time! Thank you to the Red Pastries Team and their sponsors for sharing with us the pastries that you have to offer.
