Juris Live in Concert at the Ynares Arena, Pasig

July 26 — Post-summit, and a gloomy evening after the rain has poured down hard on Metro Manila, my mom and I trudged our way to Ynares Arena Pasig for the Erase concert series: Juris Live in Concert. My mom and I are big fans of Juris. I mean, with her beautiful voice which has sung sweet serenades and heartbreaking love songs, who wouldn’t be?

The concert also featured a plethora of talents, including singer/songwriter Francisco “Kiko” Salazar, boy group Eleven O’ One, Bryan Termulo, and the sexy girl group Sassy Girls. The whole time I was watching the concert, I was floored by the talents that the concert showcased. It was a wow-moment, and truly made me feel proud to be a Filipino, being in front of all these talents. The Philippines is indeed full of unsung talents just waiting to be discovered by the world.

Here are some photos of the concert:

The Arellano Cheering Squad did an exciting routine which awed the crowd. I was seated on the second row in front, and I could hardly watch them throw the girls up in the air. There wasn’t really enough space to do the routines comfortably, so I was really scared for their safety. I’m not really sure if it was appropriate to have a cheering squad to open the concert, but it succeeded in bring the energy of the crowd a notch up.

Eleven O’ One

The Eleven O’ One Band is a group of pretty boys who are all a good combination of looks and talent. Makes me think, “Nung nagpasabog si God ng talent at itsura, sinalo na nila at gumawa sila ng banda.” Even if you’re not hot for boy groups, it would prove to be a challenge to peel off your eyes even for a second from these eye-candies. It’s a bonus that they sing and play really well. Their song “Kung Aaminin Ko Lamang” has topped the music charts in Cebu, and ranked # 3 in Manila, next to two foreign songs. Amazing and commendable feat for a newbie group. Now this is a boy band to watch out for.

Francisco “Kiko” Salazar : Famous for the songs he wrote, but equally talented in singing

It took a while, with all the technical glitches and poor transition planning from one group to another. It would have been better had the hosts for the concert decided to do some ad lib on stage or do another number on the spot. Unfortunately, the energy died a little as the crew finished preparing the instruments on stage. Soon enough, the moment everyone’s been waiting for. Finally, Juris.

Erase Concert Series : Juris in Concert

Juris sang a lot of songs, which made the grueling commute and traffic endured all worth it. She sang beautifully, with the immacualte voice that most loved her for. My favorite was when she sang, “Di lang Ikaw”, a song she composed as well. It was such a beautifully written song, which translated into lyrics so much of my feels.

I couldn’t stay longer for the performance of Sassy Girls and Bryan Termulo. I got this as a souvenir from that awesome and fun-filled night:
