Let’s pretend these photos are not tempting enough as they are to make you head over to Corniche, the restaurant of five-star Diamond Hotel. Let me enumerate the reasons why the Diamond Hotel buffet is not something you should miss.
The Diamond Hotel Buffet offers as much as 80-100 dishes, including desserts. They have regular buffets priced at Php 1600/head on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. For non-regular buffets such as Italian Night Tuesdays, Steak Night Thursdays, and Salmon Night Fridays, plus the Sunday Brunch, Buffet is priced at Php 2300/head. There’s always something new to try, so you don’t get tired of the same set being served over and over.
Craving for sushi and Japanese cuisine, but your unusual appetite is also asking for Indian dishes? Corniche has a wide range of cuisine. Name it, they have it: Western, Persian, Chinese, Japanese, French, Filipino, Indian. It’s a buffet for everyone. And have I mentioned how extensive their desserts bar is? It’s practically a haven for sweet-tooths like me!
They also have sugar-free desserts, and treats in cookie jars. How I wish I could have tried all of the desserts, but at some point, there just wasn’t enough tummy space left to gobble up all the awesome food.
3. Cooked and served just the way you want it
Have your favorite dishes cooked your way! Your choice of seafood and your choice of how it’s cooked as well. I had my favorite Buttered Garlic Shrimps, and it was delicious.
The Buffet Area opens at 6PM for the Dinner Buffet. When we got in, everything was so pristine and organized. The fixture at the center of the buffet area, a chandelier-like accessory with birds hanging over our heads, was a beautiful touch to the place. Cylindrical lamps lit up each table as the day grew darker and the sunlight slowly faded. The place was a little dark to take great pictures, but food is for eating! Not for taking photos!
5. Great Service
We were given a tour of the buffet area by none other than Diamond Hotel’s Head Chef himself, Chef Jerry Montenegro Cruz. He mentioned that most of the chefs for the Diamond Hotel have extensive experience working in restaurants of five-star hotels. Not to mention, they have foreign executive chefs manning the kitchen and supervising every dish that get served in the buffet area.
The people at our table, me included, were always attended to by waiters without fail. They were quick to refill drinks, clear the tables of emptied plates, and offer dishes that we didn’t know were available. We just had to ask, and they would be quick to indulge our request. It was amazing how the waiters were very accommodating, and I can say that this definitely qualifies as good service.
Thank you to Diamond Hotel’s PR Supervisor Twinkle Lacsamana for having us bloggers over at Corniche. We even got to take home a bag of Ube Ensayamadas, from Diamond Hotel’s bakeshop called The Cake Club. Thanks us well to Wazzup Pilipinas for organizing this event. I had an amazing time with good food and good friends, and it definitely won’t be my last time at Corniche, Diamond Hotel.-HANA
