Last Call for Alcohol : Quick Cocktail Time at Red Patio, Cainta

Red Patio Cainta

Red Patio, Cainta

With elections drawing near, and the Liquor Ban impending on us happy, alcohol-loving people, we decided to drink ourselves tipsy until the last minute of alcohol freedom. We bought some beer and pre-drank at home, hoping it would be enough to keep us from raiding the nearest bar in town. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we ran out of beer. But no fret, because we’ve discovered Red Patio, relatively new bar in Cainta, right across Greenpark Village.

Inside Red Patio

Red Patio opened only last December 8, 2012, and has been serving Italian fusion recipes and well-loved cocktails and drinks. It has cozy interiors with red and yellow as their primary motif. I really liked the graffiti art on the wall just outside the entrance. I also liked that their light bulbs were enclosed in glass jars. It’s really something you don’t see everyday.

Red Patio Menu

Their food menu was kept together in a clipboard. They serve salad, soups, pasta, and meals. I just browsed through the menu because my friend didn’t want anything heavy, so I had her order for the both of us. We had dinner before we went here, so we’re really not after the food.

Red Patio Drinks Menu

If you’re all for presentation and aesthetics, well, their Drinks Menu could use some help. For a relatively newly opened place, it should look like it. Maybe print a new one? :)

Displays of wine surround the long, cozy sofa

While waiting for our food, we spent the time chatting and looking around the place. For some reason unknown to me, the playlist that night was K-POP, which my friend and I shared an interest in. We didn’t wait too long for the food. Besides, we were seated comfortably on a cozy, red leather sofa, and had a lot of things to see behind us. There were displays of wine and liquor bottles, jars of snakcs, and stack of books that gave the place a vintage feel.

We just ordered Mozarella Sticks and Dip with a Pitcher of their Classic Margarita. It was a short night and we were in a hurry to get home before curfew (what curfew?!)

Mozarella Sticks with Dip

The Mozarella Sticks were really cheesy! As in it was stuffed with so much cheese, I thought I was going to choke. I liked that the dip had bits and pieces of meat and sprinkled with cheese. It made for a good appetizer.

Classic Margarita

Red Patio’s Classic Margarita was good. We got ourselves a pitcher, priced at 375 pesos, which was good for 5 – 6 servings, four if you fill it to the brim, almost pouring off the glass (which we did). An individual order would cost 105pesos/glass of Classic Margarita.

Price Range: 300-500php

Will I come back? While the food and drinks are relatively more expensive than in other bars, this place is a nice hangout. It’s situated just outside my friend’s village, so if we’re ever too drunk, we can take refuge nearby. I hardly got time to try out the other menu items that night, which is why I look forward to visiting again and trying out other items in their Italian-infused menu.

On a sidenote, the liquor ban has been lifted by the Supreme Court yesterday. I think they had their last call for alcohol moment the night before and went to work the next day intoxicated to have come up with the suspension order on the liquor ban. Oh well! Let’s just look forward to a peaceful election period. Cheers! -HANA
