Last weekend, people all over the world celebrated Mother’s Day, which is celebrated once a year, usually on the second Sunday of May. Of course, being the affectionate and family-centric people that we Filipinos are, we make it a point to pamper our mothers and make Mother’s day every year an extra special day for them. I am glad to have been part of the Mother’s day of a handful of mothers who dropped by Robinsons Forums Pioneer Activity Area for our Mother’s Day celebration, wherein mothers get the chance to enjoy a free hand spa, footspa, hairstyling/hair cut, and free makeovers. My classmate, Mary Joy, and some couple of friends from our hair salon rendered the same services at the activity area of Robinsons Galleria, Ortigas.

To all the mothers out there, here’s a belated Happy Mother’s Day to you! I’m not yet a mommy myself, and I may not know all the hardships and sacrifices that our moms endure for their families, but I do know that they love us a great deal and would go through hell and back for their love for their families. I didn’t get to greet you with a blog post on the day itself because we were all so busy preparing to pamper all the mommies that dropped by the area. It was really a tiring day for me, but even so, I celebrated Mother’s Day with a big smile on my face, seeing as how we all made these mommies feel special in our own little way. To hell with backaches and standing for eight hours straight. When one of the lolas whose makeover I did came back to our area and showed me she had her photo taken at a photo studio after our makeover session, I thought I’d melt. I may not be the best MUA out there, but I’m sure as hell that I was able to make a small difference in someone’s life that day.
Again, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who have always loved us despite and through anything and everything. Cheers! -HANA
