Mezza Norte located at Trinoma Parking, Mindanao Ave corner North Ave

Great news for all foodies! The premiere food night market, Mezza Norte, has now opened in Ayala Malls, Trinoma for all to enjoy. Open from 4 PM up to 3 AM from Friday to Sunday, the Mezza Norte is located at Trinoma’s Mindanao open parking at the corner of Mindanao Avenue and North Avenue.

With about sixty of the best food enterprises to boast of, the Mezza Norte promises an extensive array of delectable food and the best of homemade dishes from the kitchens of Quezon City. RJ Ledesma, co-founder of the Mercato Centrale group explain that while Its Trinoma location allows the Mezza Norte to complement  Ayala Malls’ Trinoma’s shopping and dining experience, it is also located strategically where it is most accessible to foodies of Northern Manila.

Mercato Centrale Group along with Ayala Malls’ Trinoma Head Honchos

Mezza Norte is the brainchild of Mercato Centrale Group, the events team behind well-known night weekend markets, such as the Midnight Mercato in Bonifacio Global City, and Cucina Andare in Glorietta Park in Makati.

Food entrepreneurs in Mezza Norte are handpicked by the Mercato Centrale Group, as they are required to pass a taste test based on flavour, innovation and uniqueness. This ensures that the Mezza Norte offers only the best and the freshest food concepts on this side of Manila. The Mercato Centrale Group takes pride in having helped launch and establish the name of many food entrepreneurs such as Manang’s Chicken, Zen Taclings, Mochiko, Mio Gelati, and many more.

Inspired by the vibrant night food markets from neighboring countries, the Mercato Centrale Group has succeeded in making the weekend food night markets not only a premiere destination for everyone, but a tourist attraction as well. The Pinoy ultimately enjoying a fun and light atmosphere, the Mezza Norte is the best place to chill and dine with family and friends, and something tourists and balikbayans would definitely enjoy. The thing about the weekend night markets of the Mercato Centrale is that there is always the chance of finding the “next big thing” if you scour the sea of food entrepreneurs waiting to be discovered.

We checked out Mezza Norte on its opening night and here are some of the things you shouldn’t and wouldn’t miss:

Peppered Corn at 25php/Stick

Since Mercato at Ayal Technohub, this Peppered Corn has always been my favorite. I wish I got the name of the stall, but I didn’t, and there are two stalls offering peppered corn. Please go look for the one with heavily peppered and buttered! Not the healthies thing in the world, but it sure tastes so good.

Mr. Nakamura’s Authentic Japanese Food

When it read “Authentic Japanese food” we didn’t really think that they would be literal about it. It can’t get any more authentic than a Japanese chef, Mr. Nakamura, cooking your food while you wait. And for authentic Japanese at 85-95php, that is pretty inexpensive.

Mushroom Melt and Dynamite Cheese Rolls by Uno Burger

I didn’t get to try Uno Burger’s Mushroom Melt but it sure looks promising! The Dynamite Cheese Rolls as well, which sells at 75php for 4 pieces is an interesting item to try.

Merry Moo’s Coffee Kahlua

Merry Moo! I have rediscovered it, and I love their Coffee Kahlua Ice cream. Go try their Sea Salt Caramel and Earl Grey Tea Flavors as well! Their ice cream is made of fresh local dairy. You should not miss this. I couldn’t stop saying, “Ang sarap” while enjoying my cup of ice cream, it was almost embarrassing. XD They also have a kiosk at SM Mall of Asia right across Top Shop so check them out there as well!

Charcoal-grilled Burgers by Big Bob’s Burger

Big Bob’s Burgers are sure big! They have these really thick patties stuffed into their burgers, so two people can share one Big Bob’s Burger, lest you’re really hungry! I’ve loved Big Bob’s Burgers since Mercato at Ayala Technohub. They’re priced at around 200-300php.

Potato Chip-Chocolate Mochiko

Ever wondered what Potato-chip chocolate might taste like? Wonder no more! Mochiko has produced this flavor for their mochis and it tastes good! This was my last dessert for the night. We even got asked by one of the bystanders in the area if Mochiko was good, because they probably wanna try it but is thinking twice about it. We answered with a sure, resounding, YES!

Some booths that are worth mentioning:

Macheesemo Burgers – Patties oozing with cheesy goodness. I’ve tried this at Mercato before, and they had really good burgers as well.

Green Minded – sells healthy veggie sandwiches. Enjoyed their Pita with Crabsticks :)

Yana’s Bukolicious – My choice of Buko Shake since Mercato at Ayala Technohub. If they have Avocado shake available, grab it! Avocado shakes are seasonal and they make delicious Avocado shakes.

As mentioned earlier, Mezza Norte has about sixty food entrepreneurs, each with a different story to tell through their specialties. It is difficult to try and sample all sixty in one day, so we’re coming back for more to try out what the other foodtrepreneurs have to offer! -HANA

Mezza Norte is located at Mindanao Open Parking, at the corner of Mindanao Avenue and North Avenue. Mezza Norte Trinoma’s Schedule if from 4 PM – 3 Am from Friday to Sunday.
